You will start to see the effects of your treatment, with the area looking smoother and more refreshed after just 5 to 7 days. The full effect of your neurotoxin injections will be seen between 10 and 14 days.
Results from neurotoxin injections are not permanent. Effects usually last about 3-4 months.
Neurotoxin injections will only need one single treatment to show results. However, results last about 3-4 months, therefore treatments can continue upon this timeline for as long as the client desires.
Neurotoxin-based injectables don’t require any time for recovery. Clients are able to go back to their day-to-day routine directly after treatment with minimal restrictions. As with any injectable, side effects can include redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising at the treatment site. We recommend scheduling your appointment 2 weeks prior to any event or travel.
No, we will not treat you with neurotoxins if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- If approved by your prescribing provider, avoid all blood thinners 1 week before having your injection. This may include Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Garlic, Ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Ginkgo Biloba, and Primrose oil.
- Avoid alcohol 1-2 days prior to treatment to lessen the chances of bruising.
- Oral Arnica is optional prior to treatment to minimize bruising.
- If possible, come to your appointment with a clean face, free of make-up.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours post-treatment.
- Do not apply make-up preferably for 4 hours after treatment. Waiting 24 hours is best.
- Avoid lying flat for 4 hours after treatment.
- Avoid massaging or applying pressure to the treated area for 4 hours. Avoid wearing a tight hat if your forehead is treated.
- Be patient. It takes two-three weeks to see full results. We will not inject more tox until you’ve passed the 2 week mark.
- Schedule a tox follow-up with your injector after 2 weeks if you feel any tweaks are needed or you would like a dose adjustment for further correction.
- Average longevity is 3-4 months, but it is very normal to see some movement returning after 6-10 weeks as it gradually wears off.
- Continue to avoid alcohol for 1-2 days if bruising occurs as it could worsen.
- You may continue to take Arnica after treatment to heal bruising faster.
- Call the office immediately if the areas treated become red or hot to the touch days after treatment.
